The next topic under discussion was the innovation process - with Chris Cornyn, chief innovation officer at Revolution Foods - challenging the audience to "Tell me one product that was based on a trend report that became a monumental success."
He added: "Forget spending $20,000 on this report or that consumer research report. It comes down to the holy trinity, which is ease, deliciousness and health. I can't see one product that was a total failure that delivered on all these things."
