NutraIngredients-USA is pleased to announce BIOMILQ, HelloBiome and Preebio as our 2024 Probiota Americas Pioneers for the upcoming Probiota Americas (June 10-12).

Every year, NutraIngredients-USA invites innovative early-stage companies to apply to be a ‘Probiota Pioneer’, and our three chosen winners gain the opportunity to showcase their solution on stage. In this session, each pioneer will present their company before joining a panel discussion, in which we will delve deeper into their visions and their experiences as entrepreneurs in this space.

The pioneering trio will join us at Probiota Americas in Salt Lake City to present their companies and network with the industry.

BIOMILQ is a women-owned and science-led startup building a mammary biomanufacturing platform to produce bioauthentic human milk ingredients to advance human health. By combining the unique capabilities of human mammary cells with a scalable biomanufacturing process, BIOMILQ aims to demonstrate the power of its platform to promote gut, immune and brain health by implementing human milk ingredients into a range of existing products including infant formula.

"We know that many components of human milk have a strong positive influence on infant microbiome community establishment and infant health," said Dr. Zachary Holmes, product development team lead, BIOMILQ. "We're really excited that BIOMILQ is able to get on stage as a Probiota Pioneer and share with the industry how we are working to increase access to many of these valuable components for babies that aren't able to receive the recommended exposure to breast milk."

HelloBiome is an innovative B2B biotech startup, leveraging the microbiome to transform consumer health. It democratizes microbiome data access and leverages AI to create personalized health solutions. HelloBiome said its hub drastically improves data accuracy by 100% and reduces R&D costs by 40%. The company is advancing to an AI-based ingredient discovery platform for licensing new ingredients and formulations. Trusted by over 20 clients, including notable consumer brands, HelloBiome is not just forecasting consumer health's future—it is actively crafting it, focusing on personalized wellbeing through the power of the microbiome.

"We are living in an exciting era as the consumer health and beauty industry shifts its innovation focus towards the microbiome," said Elsa Jungman, PhD, founder & chief executive officer, HelloBiome.

"Hellobiome is thrilled to pioneer this space with our advanced data collection technology and AI models, providing the industry with more personalized and targeted solutions. It is a true honor to be recognized among other incredible pioneers who are building better health solutions, one microbiome at a time. We could not be more thankful to the Probiota Pioneer Committee for this recognition.”

Preebio, a pioneering start-up, leads the gut health revolution with its groundbreaking protein-based prebiotics. The company said its innovative product range is scientifically proven to be more effective than current carbohydrate-based prebiotics in impacting gut microbiome, selectively boosting probiotics, offering a range of health benefits such as improved digestion, reduced inflammation, enhanced immune response and increased well-being.

Preebio's mission is to make these protein-based prebiotics accessible to all, revolutionizing global health. Beyond individual impact, the company empowers manufacturers, elevating the entire prebiotic and probiotic industry. With a blend of science and passion, Preebio stands at the forefront of transformative gut health solutions.

“Preebio is thrilled to be recognized as a Probiota Pioneer," said Saul Koder, chief executive officer at Preebio. "This honor not only validates our commitment to innovative prebiotic research at Preebio, but it also reflects the potential impact of our work on global health and nutrition. We are excited to continue pushing boundaries, driving innovation, and ultimately making a meaningful difference in people's lives through our pioneering efforts in the field of prebiotics and probiotics."
