Microbiome health company Nouri has launched a new prenatal probiotic supplement to support the maternal microbiome.

Nouri’s Prenatal Health is designed to support the maternal microbiome during pregnancy, when gut microbiome function and composition are altered by hormonal changes.

Prenatal supplements market

Healthy digestion during pregnancy is directly correlated with nutrient absorption for both mother and child. Nouri’s Prenatal Health is designed to deliver diverse and clinically supported bacteria that supports nutrient absorption, immunity, and mood while reducing common gastrointestinal symptoms experienced during pregnancy, such as nausea, upset stomach, and bloating, according to a press release from the company.

“Nouri’s Prenatal Health enters a large and growing Prenatal Supplement Market,” Caroline Beckman, Nouri Founder and CEO, told NutraIngredients-USA. “The segment is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.1% and reach a valuation of $1.04 billion by 2032. Specific support of the Maternal Microbiome with Prenatal Probiotics provides incremental growth to this category.“

The new product from Nouri, which is available at 655 Target locations nationwide for $19.99, joins the brand’s existing line of probiotics, including Digestive Health, Women’s Health, and Weight Health.

“Nouri’s focus is to make the best microbiome science accessible to everyone,”Beckman told us earlier this year. “Since Nouri launched in 2019, we have been committed to innovation that is incrementally beneficial to consumers as compared to current market offerings.”

Wider expansion

In addition to the launch in Target, the whole brand has expanded across 3,000 retail stores nationwide, with products available in Walmart, H-E-B, Albertson’s/Safeway, and Target.

Inflation and rising prices have not slowed growing consumer demand for gut health products. The digestive health category is expected to grow to $72.5BN by 2030 as customers and national retailers focus on a proactive approach to gut health.

“Nouri is focused on bridging the gap by delivering the highest quality and most accessible proactive health products on the market,” said Beckman. “Consumers are demanding products to support gut and immune health at an affordable price point.”

“A strong microbiome is foundational to overall health and wellbeing. One of our goals at Nouri is to catalyze widespread proactive gut health in the United States.”
