Omega-3 fatty acids from fish, krill, green-lipped mussels, and algae have been touted as offering joint health benefits. The anti-inflammatory activity of the fatty acids has been reported to behind many of the joint health benefits.

The regulators currently take a dim view of claims about inflammation, leading to significant dilemmas for joint health product manufacturers.
