B vitamins for brain health
There was some good news on the science side, with University of Oxford and the University of Oslo scientists reporting that daily supplements of B vitamins may slow the decline in mental function in people with mild cognitive impairment.
According to findings published in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, daily combination of folic acid, and vitamins B6 and B12 was associated with a 30% reduction in levels of the amino acid homocysteine, and improvements in a range of mental tests, including global cognition and episodic memory.
