Graminex, a producer of flower pollen extracts, has launched a new product formulation designed to support prostate health and virility.

SP63 contains the Graminex Standardized Flower Pollen Extract and Standardized Saw Palmetto Extract and is marketed under the brand name Prostanex.

SP63 is manufactured by Avoca, a division of RJ Reynolds, Merry Hill, NC, in conjunction with Saginaw, Michigan-based Graminex and also distributed by Graminex.

Graminex CEO Cynthia R. May said that recent clinical studies show both Standardized Flower Pollen Extract and Standardized Saw Palmetto Extract "concentrate in the prostate gland to decrease the size and congestion at a cellular level."

She continued: "The fat soluble portions of the extracts are absorbed into the blood within 1-2 hours." May also said that studies specifically using Standardized Flower Pollen Extract show that it reduces the size and congestion of prostate cells while urinary flow, rate, and clearance are improved via the action on the smooth muscle tissue that lines the urinary system.

May added that Standardized Saw Palmetto Extract was found to reduce BPH symptoms, including PSA levels and urinary flow rates, by improving the hormonal metabolism of the prostate gland.
