The new line is branded as Ultivite Men’s and Women’s Multivitamin + Superfood Blend. The formulation contains 41 vitamins, minerals, superfoods, and antioxidants, designed to support energy production and vitality, and promote general health and wellbeing. The company claims the blend is backed by science and is made with globally sourced ingredients including acerola cherry fruit powder and matcha green tea leaf powder.
Cat Ski, H&H (Swisse's parent company) General Manager of North America, said the ingredients were uniquely chosen to help consumers fill nutritional gaps and support energy production, while supporting overall physical health and well-being.
“The Multivitamin + Superfood Blends are an evolution of the much loved Ultivite, a staple product for the brand, which has been operating for over 50 years. Holding true to the tenets of the Ultivite products, the new blends are made with premium and globally sourced ingredients. Containing over 41 ingredients, the comprehensive formulations contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and superfoods tailored to specific men’s and women’s needs respectively for the best result.”
Ski added that with the success of similar products catering to on-the-go lifestyles, the single-dose powder packs were an easy choice.
“We’ve found that our consumers are on-the-go and continuously seeking out natural and convenient ways to fill nutritional gaps and increase energy without having to change their daily habits greatly,” explained Ski. “Additionally, convenience aside, we recognize some consumers experience aversions with pills or find them difficult to swallow, and options like gummies can contain more sugars and artificial ingredients than good-for-you vitamins. So, providing a great tasting, antioxidant rich and clean label product that is simple to add to water or smoothies was important to us,” she said.
In addition to the Multivitamin + Superfoods Blends, Swisse also plans to introduce its Ultibiotic products to the US. The lineup includes four probiotic offerings, each tailored to support brain health, help balance the digestive system, promote improved immune defense and help relieve excess nervous energy. Each Ultibiotic is a daily duo combining a clinically-trialed probiotic capsule paired with a tablet containing a blend of nutrients aimed to help support wellness from within.
The Ultibiotic range will include four versions:
- Brain Health+ Probiotic: contains clinically-trialed probiotic strains, bacopa, phosphatidylserine, and ginkgo biloba to support cognitive function, brain health and improve memory
- Calm+ Probiotic: contains clinically-trialed probiotic strains, magnesium, chamomile, Vitamin B12 and ashwagandha to help the body adapt to stress, help relieve excess nervous energy and calm the mind
- Cleanse+ Probiotic: contains clinically-trialed probiotic strains, milk thistle, choline and globe artichoke to support the body’s natural detoxification process, help relieve symptoms of indigestion while supporting a healthy gut
- Defense+ Probiotic: contains clinically-trialed probiotic strains, andrographis, zinc, and Vitamin C to support a healthy immune system function and response
While these products have been available and in Australia and are not entirely new, Swisse chose to offer the Ultibiotics in the North American market to not only address focused needs within the gut, but also provide a once daily comprehensive offering with key active nutrients to support overall health and wellbeing.
“Unlike other probiotics, this product range and format allows us to also deliver a fridge-free, convenient daily duo. True to the Swisse brand heritage, this combination of capsule and tablet allows us to deliver premium and efficacious ingredients in a new way that fits into consumers' busy lifestyles,” Ski said.
Each product is a formula consisting of a probiotic capsule paired with key nutrients and herbs in a daily-duo pack tablet format.
“Swisse’s Ultibiotics range features several clinically-trialed probiotic strains, each selected for their focused benefits so that we’d be able to provide consumers with comprehensive, tailored solutions for four specific, functional health benefits and overall gut health support," explained Ski. "In terms of the specific strains used, we chose Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell-52 and Bifidobacterium longum Rosell-175 for the Brain Health+ and Calm+ products, as these clinically trailed probiotic strains are proven to support gastrointestinal and digestive system health. Additionally, we included Lactobacillus plantarum (HEAL 9) and Lactobacillus paracasei (8700:2) in the Defense+ product to help strengthen the body’s immune system and Lactobacillus plantarum (299V) in the Cleanse+ product to support gastrointestinal and digestive system health,” she added.
The Ultibiotic product line will hit the US market in early 2021 and the Multivitamin + Superfood Blend is available now on Amazon and Swisse.com.
