California-based Concentrated Active Ingredients and Flavors (CAIF), a specialist in food ingredients from Latin America, is partnering with Brazilian ingredients firm Duas Rodas to increase the latter’s presence in the North American market.

“We are focused on the task of increasing the promotion of these ingredients from Brazil and Latin America to help local companies to increase their representation abroad,” said Cesar Fernandes, CAIF’s CEO.

“Our role is to act as an entry portal for safe access to the different ingredients, and be a trustworthy link between producers and consumers throughout the world,” he added.

The partnership will strengthen distribution of both CAIF and Duas Rodas’ product offerings, which include cacao, guarana, yerba mate, acerola, and acai. The ingredients are available in freeze-dried form, extract, flavors, and many other formats.

“We work with the concept of troubleshooting, focused on finding solutions for our customers, especially with regard to natural products that combine flavor and functionality, with a scientific basis, for the promotion of health and well-being,” Fernandes added.

CAIF supplies raw materials for dietary supplements, beverages, functional food, and sports nutrition in various countries, including Brazil, Germany, France, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States, and Canada. It estimates an annual sales volume of approximately $4.5 million by the end of 2017.

At this week’s SupplySide West expo in Las Vegas, CAIF will be exhibiting at booth #Y171.
