The Nature’s Bounty Co. acquires The Best Bar Ever

Supplement maker The Nature’s Bounty Co. acquired nutrition bar brand The Best Bar Ever, adding to its portfolio of performance nutrition products.

The bars are available in Chocolate Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Crunch, and Cookie Dough flavors, offered in a 40 g bar size with 10 g protein and 65 g bar size with 16 g protein.

“The new addition nicely complements the company’s sports and nutrition portfolio, offering a nutrition bar with no fillers or sugar alcohols,”​ Jodi Katz, director, corporate communications at The Nature’s Bounty Co. told NutraIngredients-USA.

“Our portfolio has long included sports and active nutrition products from leading brands such as MET-Rx, Pure Protein and Body Fortress, to name a few. This is not a new business or a new concept for us,”​ she added. “Our Sports & Active nutrition products range from bars and ready to drink beverages to powders, providing consumers with a variety of options for protein base supplements.”

When asked about any other acquisitions in the horizon, Katz said there is nothing specific at the time, “but we are always looking for opportunities that would add value to our business.”

Mike Clay, who founded The Best Bar Ever in 2015, said that he is “excited to bring The Best Bar Ever to a company with such a legacy in the health and wellness space and look forward to a strong partnership.”

Katz added, “Consumers are increasingly looking for convenient and great-tasting nutrition bars – and this brand is right in line with that trend.”
