Niagen nicotinamide riboside may reduce obesity-related inflammation

Nicotinamide riboside, a vitamin B3 derivative, may reduce inflammation linked to obesity, and reduce the risk of diseases linked to this type of inflammation, according to pre-clinical data from scientists at the National Institutes of Health.

Nicotinamide riboside is found in minute quantities in milk and beer.

Chromadex cements position in NR market with third IP acquisition

Chromadex has announced a licensing deal with Washington University in St. Louis for the worldwide exclusive patent rights related to the recently discovered vitamin nicotinamide riboside (NR). It is Chromadex’s third IP acquisition related to the molecule.

A vitamin found naturally in milk, NR is a more potent version of niacin (vitamin B3) and a precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), increased cellular levels of which have multiple health benefits, says ChromaDex
