“It’s been a really exciting year for us. I think we all know it's been a bit of a strange year on the one hand. But we've been really excited about our progress. The award was really helpful for us in getting more recognition for the company and technology,” said Rich Troyer, Comet Bio’s CEO.
Comet Bio won the Start-up Award in 2020 for developing an innovative process to upcycle crop leftovers into healthy and sustainable products that allow farmers to take advantage of their whole harvest.
Science matters
“I think what was really helpful for us was the focus on the science behind why our product is unique. We invested quite a bit in clinical trials, we also invested significantly in application testing to see where our product may work. I think those put together helped convince the panelists that this is a real company with a serious product behind it,” said Troyer.

As Troyer pointed out, entering the NutraIngredients-USA Awards is a great way to showcase your hard work -- both internally as well as externally to the trade.
Entries are open through Monday, March 29, 2020. Winners will be announced during a virtual celebration on July 14.
