GNC teams up with NFL insider Jay Glazer

GNC recently announced their partnership with Jay Glazer. The television personality and performance trainer will serve as a national ambassador and spokesperson for GNC.

MMA coach/trainer Glazer, an analyst for Fox Sports, also co-owns a gym known for training top athletes.

Inspired by his gym, Glazer and GNC co-developed a new line of pre-workout and recovery products called "Unbreakable Performance Fueled by GNC.”​

"Now that Jay is officially onboard, we are moving fast and efficiently to roll out the products later this year in our in GNC stores, in GNC’s retail partners, on GNC.com and at Unbreakable Performance in Los Angeles," ​Ryan Ostrom, chief brand officer, GNC, told NutraIngredients-USA. ​

The product line will be on shelves later this year. 

The Unbreakable Performance Center, located in West Hollywood, California is co-owned by Glazer, professional football player Brian Urlacher and three-time Captain of the US Women's Volleyball Team, Lindsey Berg. 

“Unstoppable duo”

GNC said their long history in nutritional science and established supply chain of ingredient sources compliment Glazer's passion and immense background in fitness and training. 

In a press release, the collaboration was called “an unstoppable duo,”​ adding, “Together, they will inspire people to find their inner champion and achieve personal success to get well, stay well and live well.”​

When the uniform comes off 

The Unbreakable Performance Center is also the Los Angeles home of Merging Vets & Players, whose mission is to match up combat veterans and former professional athletes together to give them a new team to

tackle the transition together. 

GNC and Glazer both say they are united by their support for the nation's veterans and using fitness as a tool to transition them to civilian life – GNC through its Live Well Foundation and Glazer through his nonprofit, Merging Vets & Players (MVP). A percentage of all "Unbreakable Performance Fueled by GNC" sales will benefit MVP, which brings veterans and former professional athletes together in their transitions to life after the uniforms come off.
