A preemptive strike against potential reintroduction of labeling act
Expecting Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., to reintroduce the Dietary Supplement Labeling Act again this session as he has the last two, NPA members, including this group from New Jersey, proactively asked lawmakers to oppose the legislation. They argued that the overhaul of FDA by the Food Safety Modernization Act sufficiently strengthens the agency's authority to suspend supplement manufacturers' registration if there is a reasonable probability the supplement could cause serious adverse events.
