Embria Health Sciences’ ingredient EpiCor, has been combined with vitamin D3 for a new soft chew product for the immune health category.

The new product, called ProActive Health Products Prebiotic Soft Chew provides a dose of 250 mg of EpiCor and 400 IUs of vitamin D3 per chew. Depending on age and weight, doses can vary from one to three chews per day, said Embria.

“We know that convenient delivery systems such as soft chews are the wave of the future for the immune health category,” stated Paul Faganel, president of Embria Health Sciences. “This product is a fast and tasty way for busy families to support their immune systems with the combination of two highly researched ingredients.”

History

EpiCor and Embria were born out of suspicions that the culture could have other uses following farmers' reports that their animals were not getting sick.

Moreover, in 2004 insurance adjusters noticed that Diamond V, Embria's parent company, employees had far lower sick rates than other workplaces. The company thought the culture could be boosting the immune systems of workers who handled it.
