Herbalist & Alchemist has again been certified as a B Corporation, confirming the herbal products company’s high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

B Lab, a nonprofit organization that serves a global movement of “People Using Business as a Force for Good,” measures a company’s impact on its stakeholders, from workers, suppliers, community, to the environment. Herbalist & Alchemist has been a certified B Corporation since 2010.

“The standards and practices required for becoming certified as a B Corporation were built into Herbalist & Alchemist from the beginning, making products that are beneficial for people in a way that is good for the earth,” said Beth Lambert, Herbalist & Alchemist CEO. “The B Corporation assessment is very demanding, requiring extensive documentation to prove you run your business the way you say you do. It’s a lot like cGMP compliance in that way.”

“We are particularly proud of our commitment to using local suppliers first, which drives a lot of our purchases,” added Beth. “If the herbs we need in the quality we demand are not locally grown, we look elsewhere in the US. The amount of plant material we buy from abroad is now very small.”
