Scientists have found a way to avoid triggering food sensing pathways that leave the body in a fasting state.

L-Nutra recently introduced Fast Bar, which was developed to support intermittent fasting and curb hunger. The bar's formulation revolves around the patented Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) that has introduced an unfamiliar concept: fasting with food.

James Kelley, MD, medical science liaison for L-Nutra, sat down with us to discuss the health benefits of intermittent fasting and explained how Fast Bar is clinically shown to avoid triggering food sensing pathways so that the body remains in a fasting state while at the same time being nourished with food.

Kelley explained how the Fasting Mimicking Diet promotes regenerative changes, including supporting healthy levels of a wide range of physiological markers that contribute to aging, such as cholesterol, inflammation, and fasting glucose. "So your body does many other things as it would in a fasting state, but we're still giving you food to support other processes," he said.

"Nutri-science has recently uncovered that you can mimic fasting while nourishing the body with a special formulation of macro and micronutrients. Fast Bar allows individuals practicing Intermittent Fasting (IF) or Time Restricted Eating (TRE) to first easily commit to their goals while reducing the fear of hardship and hunger often associated with long hours of fasting, and to second still provide, rather than deprive, nutrients to their body,” explained Joseph Antoun MD PhD, CEO of L-Nutra.

Fast Bar, which is now available at Amazon, is high in good fats, low in sugar, plant-based, non-GMO, gluten-free, soy and dairy-free, Keto-friendly, whole food ingredients with no additives. They come in three flavors: Nuts & Honey, Nuts & Cacao Chips, Nuts & Dark Cocoa.
