GOED has updated its FatsofLife.com website showcasing the benefits of EPA and DHA omega-3 consumption for healthcare practitioners.

Created more than 20 years ago, FatsofLife.com has evolved from a journal-based newsletter summarising cutting-edge research in the fatty acids field, to a fully-referenced website on the body of scientific evidence supporting the benefits of EPA and DHA.

The updated hub now offers improved functionality that allows healthcare practitioners (HCPs) to find and collect studies of interest on omega-3 and specific health outcomes. It also curates Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on omega-3s.

The new features have been added to strengthen the site’s objective of informing this audience about the clinical benefits of EPA and DHA for brain, heart, eye, and prenatal/maternal health.

The site brings key information to the attention of HCPs, with some headline facts including: '80% of people worldwide are below cardioprotective levels of omega-3s', 'the body's highest concentration of DHA is found in the retina of the eye', and 'omega-3 DHA is a vital nutrient during pregnancy and lactation'.

In addition to educational infographics for practitioners, the site also now includes a section with patient-specific details including infographics and videos.

FatsofLife.com is one part of GOED’s larger strategy to educate HCPs, and GOED invites all omega-3 companies to share this site with healthcare practitioners.

GOED

The Global Organisation for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED) is a trade association representing 170+ global companies active in the EPA and DHA omega-3 industry.

The association also runs a website AlwaysOmega3s.com which includes consumer-friendly information on omega-3 benefits, including infographics, videos plus a quiz to determine if they're getting enough.
