Ingredients supplier BI has achieved ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification for its quality management system and testing procedures.

The company announced that the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) recognized it for demonstrating technical competence in the field of Biological Testing.

“The ISO 17025 embodies BI’s commitment to quality within our manufacturing operations,” said Rupa Das, BI’s VP of global quality and compliance. “The certification will provide further assurance to our customers related to accuracy of testing and reporting, as well as product safety. Due to the level of recognition for ISO/IEC 17025, the certification will also help facilitate acceptance of test reports between laboratories improving operations overall.”

The ISO 17025 certification includes two main sections: First, management requirements, which relates primarily to operation of a laboratory’s quality management system; and secondly, technical requirements, which determine the reliability of the laboratory’s testing.

BI, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, offers over 400 ingredients that have been determined as safe for use in dietary supplements and food and beverages.
