AHPA pushes for contextual language on Prop 65 labels
NOVEMBER: Introduced in 1986, California’s Proposition 65 has the laudable aim of protecting consumers from potential carcinogens.
In practice, however, it has exposed even the most responsible players in the dietary supplements sector to the constant threat of ‘legalized blackmail’, according to firms at the receiving end of a recent surge in Prop 65 notices filed by a single plaintiff: the Environmental Research Center (ERC).
But the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) thinks it might have the answer.
