AGZ is available online, and the company’s expansion into sleep represents its efforts to add another fundamental pillar to its health products, according to a company spokesperson. Sleep plays a vital role in cognition, immune health, energy levels, stress management, among other attributes.
“For AG1, the focus has always been on supporting customers’ health journey, and with the launch of AGZ we can do that from morning to night,” the spokesperson said. “AG1 is expanding into sleep as another fundamental pillar of health, which plays a vital role in cognition, immune health, energy levels, stress management and more.”
AGZ is a melatonin-free nightly drink, which can be purchased through a $79 monthly subscription or a one-time cost of $89. It is made with adaptogens, herbal extracts and key minerals that support rest and restoration, the company said.
Key ingredients include:
- Magtein magnesium L-threonate, a clinically tested form of magnesium that has been shown to improve sleep quality and support cognitive function.
- Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb traditionally used to help the body manage stress, with clinical evidence supporting the benefits for relaxation and sleep quality.
- Antioxidants like saffron help address oxidating stress while you sleep so you wake up feeling refreshed. It is shown in numerous clinical trials to enhance sleep quality and support a healthy mood.
The formula and ingredients were picked to work with the body’s natural rhythm, while the powder format is more bioavailable than tablets for better absorption, the company said. The supplement comes in three flavors: mixed berry, chocolate and chocolate mint.
The company added that AG1 has built the supply chain, research, quality capabilities and more to underpin broader products in nutrition, health support and supplements.
An upgraded product
Earlier this year, AG1 also launched AG1 Next Gen, a nutritional powder containing an upgraded methylated B complex, added vitamins and minerals and five clinically studied probiotic strains.
The supplement is backed by four randomized, placebo controlled clinical trials, demonstrating the products ability to key nutrient levels and improve gut health.
Kat Cole, CEO at AG1, previously told NutraIngredients that investing in clinical trials is important because customers deserve more clarity around supplement quality, efficacy and claims
“We’re proud to be setting the bar for quality and scientific rigor even higher, as it’s the right next chapter in the supplement industry,” she said.
