The board will work with Thorne’s leadership to support innovation around research and product development alongside its personalized health solutions.
Thorne’s Price at the helm
The SAB will be chaired by Thorne’s Chief Scientific Officer, Nathan Price, PhD. Speaking to NutraIngredients, Price said that as the company grows and evolves, it recognized the importance of expanding access to external scientific expertise to help inform and elevate strategic direction.
“The formation of our Scientific Advisory Board represents a key step in this evolution,” he explained. “By bringing together a world-class group of leaders who share our commitment to evidence-based, personalized health solutions, we’re ensuring that our product development, innovation roadmap and scientific standards are guided by the very best in the field.
“The SAB will play a pivotal role in identifying emerging trends, validating scientific integrity, and helping us stay at the forefront of personalized health and wellness.”

Scientists, medical professionals and industry leaders converge
Price said that when it came to selecting board members, Thorne focused on individuals with a proven track record of scientific excellence, including groundbreaking research, peer-reviewed publications and thought leadership within their respective fields.
“We also brought in leading physicians and innovators with expertise in our industry,” he added. “It was also essential that their work aligned with Thorne’s mission of proactive, personalized health optimization.
“Each board member is a highly respected leader, chosen for both their scientific contributions and their ability to translate science into meaningful, real-world impact. We also placed high value on collaboration, curiosity and a commitment to advancing health care for all.”
Thorne also wanted board members with a wide range of health disciplines.
“Health is not one-dimensional, and neither is our approach,” Price said. “We intentionally built a board that reflects a breadth of disciplines—spanning longevity, human performance, women’s health and more—because we believe the future of wellness lies in comprehensive, inclusive and personalized care.
“With over 47,000 practitioners in our network, we serve diverse needs across various specialties. By integrating experts from multiple fields, we’re ensuring our strategies, products and resources are scientifically grounded, practically applicable and capable of supporting practitioners in delivering optimal outcomes across the full spectrum of human health.”
Practitioners a focus
With tens of thousands of health care practitioners in its network, Thorne also cited elevating practitioner trust and support through collaboration as yet another reason the SAB was established.
“With the guidance of our Scientific Advisory Board, we’re working to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world clinical application,” Price said.
“Elevating practitioner support means providing more personalized, relevant resources—scientifically grounded tools, tailored education and advanced insights—so our practitioners are better equipped to deliver proactive, personalized care.
“As consumer demand for wellness solutions continues to grow, we are committed to empowering our practitioners with everything they need to stay ahead and serve their patients with confidence.”
