Yet for many small and medium-sized brands, the high cost of research remains a major barrier. To help overcome this challenge, Citruslabs recently introduced the Citruslabs Grant Program—an initiative designed to empower health and wellness brands to drive meaningful innovation in underserved areas like longevity, women’s health and beyond.
“Anyone with a unique product can apply, and for the first round of grants, which closed this year already for our Spring program, we received a lot more applications than we expected, which shows that there’s a huge need for grant funding,” Mitschke said. “Initially we thought we wanted to give out one grant for one brand covering 65% of the entire research cost, but now we are supporting up to nine brands and we have three tiers, which are 30%, 25% and 15%.
“It mostly happened because we had so many applications, and we did not want to pick just one brand because we believe that more of them needed this grant, and we want to support them. We want to make a big impact in the community, and it was our time to give back.”
The goal of the Citruslabs Grant is to provide financial support and expert research services to help brands validate their products, build consumer trust and differentiate themselves with evidence-backed credibility.
