Viome Life Sciences has launched an updated version of its AI-powered Full Body Intelligence test, offering new insights into over 25 health conditions, dysbiosis, biological age and inflammaging.

The company emphasizes that consumers’ genes are not their destiny and that health outcomes are measurable, modifiable and within their control.

“Our medical industrial complex is reactive and waits until we experience symptoms or develop a disease instead of helping us stay healthy in the first place—symptoms that we feel are the body’s last cry for help.” said Naveen Jain, founder and CEO of Viome. “At Viome, we believe true prevention begins by listening to your body’s earliest whispers long before illness takes hold.”

The at-home Full Body Intelligence test analyzes biological signals and translates them into daily personalized nutrition and supplement guidance before symptoms arise. The intelligence test is the culmination of over a decade of scientific research and development. It builds on Viome’s proprietary metatranscriptomic technology platform, which was originally developed for the U.S. government at Los Alamos National Lab.

How it works

Viome’s kit uses RNA sequencing from stool (gut microbiome), saliva (oral microbiome) and a finger-prick blood (cellular function) sample to reveal how diet and lifestyle impact the body’s systems.

The sequencing technology analyzes active human and microbial gene expression to detect inflammation, microbial imbalance and biological dysfunction early.

Traditional DNA-based tests and all other microbiome tests provide a static snapshot of genetic potential. RNA (gene expression) reveals which microbial and human genes are being expressed, giving functional, more dynamic, relevant and actionable insights.

RNA is the most dynamic molecular marker for understanding the current state of human health, said Dr. Momo Vuyisich, Viome’s chief science officer.

“While your DNA sequence doesn’t change, gene expression is dynamic and influenced by your environment, diet, lifestyle and microbiome,” he said. “It’s the body’s way of responding to real-time needs, by increasing or decreasing expression of specific genes, depending on what’s required. For example, the level of expression of certain genes determines whether your cells repair damage, produce inflammation-regulating proteins or process nutrients effectively.”

RNA is powerful for diagnostics and prevention because it reveals change over time. This allows each person to monitor their health, quantify gene expression levels linked to chronic conditions, implement nutritional changes to correct suboptimal physiology and then retest to ensure the health parameters are improving.

AI Engine

RNA allows Viome to go beyond simply identifying which microbes or genes are present—it reveals what those microbes and genes are actively doing in the body in real time.

This is especially important when looking at the microbiome. The common perception of “good” and “bad” microbes does not reflect the dynamic nature of microbial ecosystems, Vuyisich said. Depending on its activity, a single microbe can be helpful in one environment and harmful in another.

Powering the intelligence test is Viome’s proprietary AI engine, which is trained on the world’s largest gene expression database. It analyzes more than 100 quadrillion biological data points from over one million samples across 106 countries. According to Viome, the platform also integrates over 20,000 peer-reviewed scientific publications, continuously evolving to reflect the latest research, which provides personalized food and precision supplement recommendations designed to help reverse risk and extend health span.

“Health shouldn’t be something you only think about when things go wrong,” said Dr. Guru Banavar, Viome’s chief technology officer. “Just like you track your finances to build wealth, you should monitor your biology to stay ahead of your health. Your body is always changing, and your health plan needs to evolve with it. That’s why we built an intelligent molecular feedback loop, giving you the power to take personalized action in real-time and invest in your health like you would your financial future.”
