Uqora recently announced its entry into retail with the placement of its Complete Regimen for urinary tract health in over 4,700 CVS stores across the country.

“When you're experiencing a UTI, the last thing you want to do is piece together a plan for what products are going to best serve you,” said Uqora President Vivian Rhoads.  “Uqora is here to offer consumers an easier, modernized offering with our simple yet effective urinary care products.”

Founded in 2017 to address chronic urinary tract infections (UTIs), Uqora was acquired by supplement company Pharmavite in 2021. The brand says that it has serviced over 400,000 customers through direct-to-consumer sales on its website since inception.

The Complete Regimen

Uqora enters CVS with its Complete Regimen, a three-pronged approach to urinary tract health that flushes the urinary tract, defends against microorganisms, and promotes a healthy vaginal microbiome.

Products are proposed as an effective alternative to antibiotic and cranberry treatment with formulations including ingredients D-Mannose to bind to microorganisms in the urine, curcumin to cleanse biofilm, vitamin D3 to support bladder wall integrity, and Lactobacillus to promote the growth of healthy bacteria.

Benefits are backed by a collection of clinical studies and, as Rhoads explained, the expertise of Pharmavite’s VP of Science and Technology Dr. Susan Mitmesser “to ensure Uqora’s products are at the highest of standards and using the best research available.”

The three products are sold as part of the Complete Regimen or individually, with a UTI Emergency Kit that bundles a UTI test kit, infection control and pain relief.

Product details:

  • Uqora Flush provides post-intercourse urinary tract support using multiple active ingredients that bind to and eliminate UTI causing bacteria.  Citric acid and potassium citrate alkalize the urine, D-mannose binds to bacteria in the urine, and vitamin B6 provides a gentle diuretic effect, increasing the excretion of bacteria and reducing the potential for infection.
  • Uqora Defend, designed to support bladder wall integrity, helps to break down bacterial biofilm communities, keeping the urinary tract clear on a day-to-day basis.  The formula also includes turmeric root and green tea leaf extracts to cleanse protective bacterial biofilms, making the bacteria vulnerable to the immune system and antibiotics, reducing the recurrence of UTIs.
  • Uqora Promote is a vaginal probiotic that contains three specific strains of Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, and Lactobacillus Reuteri to help maintain a balanced vaginal microbiome.

Coming soon

The brand also previewed additional retail placements in the coming months, as well as new products in the pipeline.

“We are exploring several new product innovations slated for 2024 and beyond to better serve our customers and continue to push for better solutions in the urinary and vaginal health space,” Rhoades said.
