Industry veteran Douglas “Duffy” MacKay, ND, will join the Consumer Healthcare Products Association to lead the association's cross-functional dietary supplements team.

In his new role as Senior Vice President, Dietary Supplements, Dr MacKay will direct strategy, shaping policy, and collaborating with stakeholders to help protect and grow this important, expanding consumer health category on behalf of the CHPA membership.  MacKay will begin work at CHPA on October 18, 2021.

“Duffy is an accomplished and highly-respected leader of the dietary supplements industry, and we couldn’t be more pleased he will be joining CHPA at this important time for the category and for CHPA,” said Scott Melville, president and CEO, CHPA.

“Duffy has spent his career advocating for consumers, the industry and the important and growing role that science-backed dietary supplements play in self-care.  As such, there is no better person to lead CHPA’s efforts in the dietary supplements category, a key component of the association’s self-care mission, which is rooted in innovation and strong science, ethical leadership, responsible marketing, and more choices for America’s healthcare consumers,” added Melville.

“I have always admired CHPA’s recognition that safety, product integrity, and industry transparency are key tenants to building trust in consumer healthcare products,” said MacKay. “These tenants align with my personal values, and I am honored for this opportunity to advance CHPA’s dietary supplements agenda.”

MacKay is well-known within the supplements industry, having served recently as the Senior Vice President, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at CBD-company CV Sciences, and prior to that he spent a decade at the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) leading the organization’s Scientific & Regulatory Affairs function.
