LYVECAP launches probiotics system for athletes
LYVECAP, a direct-to-consumer wellness brand, has announced the launch of a new probiotic drink. Their first product, STRONG, was formulated for athletes to improve recovery time, boost performance, strengthen immunity and enhance cognitive ability.

Ingredients
STRONG contains leucine and taurine — amino acids key for muscle, as well as eight strains: Streptococcus thermophilus DSM 32245, Bifidobacterium lactis DSM 32246, Bifidobacterium lactis DSM 32247, Lactobacillus acidophilus DSM 32241, Lactobacillus helveticus DSM 32242, Lactobacillus paracasei DSM 32243, Lactobacillus plantarum DSM 32244, and Lactobacillus brevis DSM 27961.
Altogether, the formula aims to reduce lactic acid, as well as improve performance and recovery time after strenuous workouts.
The probiotic in this formulation is derived from the De Simone Formulation which boasts 70+ published, peer reviewed, clinical trials on human subjects to demonstrate efficacy and 200+ original publications.
Davies explained that nearly 20 years ago, as a newly trained gastroenterologist, she treated her first patient with dire clinical symptoms due to an unbalanced gut.
“After trying multiple probiotics it wasn’t until I used the De Simone Formulation that the clinical symptoms resolved and we had a lab-documented change towards a healthy and balanced gut. Through this experience (and countless more over my career), I realized that a balanced gut is critical for health and wellness. From that point on I developed a close relationship with Claudio De Simone, MD, PhD, the inventor of the probiotic that had changed my patient’s life. His proprietary De Simone Formulation is the foundation of all LYVECAP products and we partnered in order to deliver this powerful and clinically proven probiotic in a convenient way,” said the Stanford trained pediatric gastroenterologist.
Delivery system
Davies, who is also an inventor, said the offering stands out in a crowded market by creating an experience for users with its convenient cap system.
“LYVECAP’s unique cap system addresses all the delivery problems we have seen in our experience with probiotics. First off, the cap is convenient and makes it an incredibly easy grab-and-go experience to combat low compliance. Next, many people have difficulty swallowing pills so we have completely eliminated that issue. The product is subscription-based and shipped cold in a climate controlled environment every 30 days. The company said it should remain refrigerated, although can be left at room temperature for up to 7 days without losing efficacy.
