China is now accounting for around 53% of the APAC probiotics business, with one expert telling us ‘this is only the beginning’.

According to George Paraskevakos, executive director of trade body the International Probiotics Association, the APAC probiotics business is now valued at almost US$19bn.

We caught up with him on a recent trip to Shanghai where he shared his views on probiotics growth across all life stage conditions, the dominance of functional foods over supplements in China, and the latest regulatory developments in the market.
