Now Foods named as one of best places to work in Chicago

“Every single NOW employee has played a crucial role in the success of the company over the last 50 years, and it is gratifying to receive affirmation that they feel how valued they are, and to be recognized for all of our efforts in making NOW a positive workplace,”​ said NOW CEO Jim Emme. 

Determining the Best Places to Work in Chicago involved a two-step process. The first step consisted of evaluating each participating company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.

The second part consisted of employee surveys aimed at assessing the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to their workplace. This part was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the best companies and the final ranking.

Since 2008, Crain's Chicago Business​ has searched out the local businesses that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees. This year, Crain's partnered with Best Companies Group to survey Chicago employees about everything from their workplace to benefits to company culture.

NOW’s workplace practices have been recognized before: For the last ten consecutive years NOW received the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) “Chicago’s Best & Brightest Companies to Work For” award. 

In 2017, NOW also won the National award for “Best & Brightest” for the fifth year in a row.  Also in 2017, NABR named NOW as a National Best & Brightest in Wellness, the only company in the natural food industry to receive this award, and was named a 2017 “Illinois Workplace Achiever” by the Chicago Tribune​.
