Vitamin Angels gets another four stars from evaluator Charity Navigator
Global aid charity Vitamin Angels, which gives vitamins and minerals to at-risk populations, has maintained its four-star rating from Charity Navigator after the latter’s annual evaluation.

The nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities Charity Navigator rates charities based on the financial information each charity provides annually in its informational tax returns, or IRS Forms 990.

Its four star rating puts Vitamin Angels in the rarefied company of the mere 4% of almost 9,000 evaluated charities that have received as many consecutive four-star ratings, according to a press release from the charity. Four stars is the highest possible score from Charity Navigator.

"This esteemed designation from Charity Navigator indicates that Vitamin Angels can be trusted to handle charitable donations responsibly," said Howard Schiffer, President and Founder of Vitamin Angels. "We are thrilled that Vitamin Angels continues to rank among an elite group of charities who have received the award year-over-year."

In a letter to Vitamin Angels, president and CEO of Charity Navigator Michael Thatcher described the rating as a sign that “Vitamin Angels outperforms most other charities in America.”

Vitamin Angels currently operates in 74 countries across a field partner network of more than 1,200 organizations. In its press release, Vitamin Angels reported “over 90% of expenses go toward program services.”

The most recent announcement from the charity is the expansion of its prenatal multivitamin program, with a goal set to reach 50 million women annually by 2030. It announced at the Natural Products Expo West show last month that seven companies have committed a total of $329,000 to support the Global prenatal Campaign.
