Business consulting firm Frost & Sullivan awarded ingredient manufacturer OmniActive Health technologies with a 2017 North American Product Leadership Award for its Lutemax 2020 ingredient.

The ingredient, which is a combination of the carotenoids lutein, RR-zeaxanthin, and RS [meso]-zeaxanthin, is marketed to support visual function and overall eye health, and to some extent, skin and brain wellness as well.

“We are honored to receive this award which is a true testament to the uniqueness of Lutemax 2020. Sustainably-sourced from a fully integrated supply chain, Lutemax 2020 delivers all three macular carotenoids for a more complete formulation,” said Lynda Doyle, Sr. VP Global Marketing at OmniActive Health Technologies.

“Supported by strong science including the B.L.U.E. (Blue Light User Exposure) study, Lutemax 2020 is the first and only macular carotenoid ingredient which showed beneficial effects on vision health and performance, sleep quality as well as reducing eye strain and fatigue during long-duration exposure to blue light which addresses the needs of modern lifestyles.”

The award was part of Frost & Sullivan’s annual Best Practices Awards, which recognizes companies in “a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development,” according to the business consulting firm.

The award is administered by comparing market participants, and performance in measured through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research.
