Ingredients by Nature enters strategic partnership for food-grade nutritional yeast
The first ingredient to be rolled out is selenium yeast.
"In terms of the quality of selenium yeast our material contains very high organic selenium content,” said Glycon Santos, director of ICC Brazil in a statement. “For example, on a 2,000 ppm selenium yeast our material has at least 50% of seleno-methionine; one of the highest available."
Selenium, a trace mineral, has long been studied for its contributions to human health, including its ability to support a healthy prostate.
"The addition of the nutritional yeast products, starting with selenium yeast, adds strategically to our portfolio of natural ingredients for targeted health," Robert Brewster, president of IBN, added in the statement. "In addition, we can add tremendous value for brand marketers who want to incorporate the yeast into formulas with our toll services. We can add high value and functionality to our new yeast products for individual customer specifications."
