Good vibrations? Mark Wahlberg and GNC create new MARKED sports nutrition range
GNC has struck a deal with actor Mark Wahlberg to develop a new nutritional supplement line called MARKED, which will debut in GNC stores and on GNC.com, but is expected to be widely available through other leading retailers as well.

The range, which comprises seven sports and active nutrition products, is free of banned substances and “designed to meet the demanding lifestyles of active, results-driven fitness consumers who want to get the most out of their workout and improve overall health”, said the firm.

Chief executive Joe Fortunato, added: "This represents a unique strategy for us as we introduce this comprehensive line of leading nutritional products that will be available through various channels of distribution in the US and overseas."

Wahlberg, who was a singer with Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and a Calvin Klein underwear model before focusing on his acting career, will serve as the leading brand ambassador for the range and will be promoting it at GNC stores across the US throughout 2012.

A portion of all sales will be donated to the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation.
