California-based PGP International Inc., has been awarded  Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for Sport registration from NSF International.

The GMP for Sport registration helps minimize the risk that sports nutrition products are manufactured with athletic banned substances, such as steroids, stimulants, narcotics, beta blockers and masking agents, said the company.

“We are delighted to have achieved this registration at our specialized Springfield facility which helps highlight the state of the art technology we are able to offer to customers,” said Doug Bishop, Sales Manager at PGP International, and ABF Ingredients company.

NSF Program enables manufacturers working within the sports supplement industry, such as PGP International, to emphasize quality and increased brand credibility.

“PGP International’s GMP for Sport registration from NSF International exemplifies the company’s commitment to following good manufacturing practices and sports nutrition,” added Ed Wyszumiala, General Manager of NSF’s Dietary Supplements Certification programs.
