Frutarom expands algae polysaccharides facility
Israeli supplier Frutarom has expanded its Negev desert algae polysaccharide production potential by 30% to 10 tons in response to growing demand for the skin health products it is used in.
Called Alguard, the ingredient is grown in artificial seawater, using a patented growth system developed at Ben Gurion University.“We will be able to keep up with demand not just for our customers in Western Europe, the US and Japan but also for cosmetic companies throughout Asia Pacific and Eastern Europe,” said Anat Stern, product manager of cosmetic ingredients for Frutarom Health.
