The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) has secured former White House senior advisor and President George W Bush’s right-hand-man Karl Rove as a speaker at its annual symposium for the dietary supplement industry in the fall.

Rove, who will speak at the final day of the event, will discuss the inner workings of Congress, the White House and the political process in Washington D.C. and how these factors affect the business community.

Conference chair John Venardos said: “[Karl Rove’s] time spent in the White House as deputy chief of staff and senior advisor to President Bush makes him a living witness to history and his speech will surely be one of the highlights of the conference.”

Other speakers at the conference include Food and Drug Administration (FDA) dietary supplements chief Dan Fabricant, Metagenics chief scientific officer Jeffrey Bland, director at the Office of Dietary Supplements, National Institutes of Health Paul Coates, and Vitamin Angels founder Howard Schiffer.
