Rove: How does Congress really work?
The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) has secured former White House senior advisor and President George W Bush’s right-hand-man Karl Rove as a speaker at its annual symposium for the dietary supplement industry in the fall.

Rove, who will speak at the final day of the event, will discuss the inner workings of Congress, the White House and the political process in Washington D.C. and how these factors affect the business community.

Conference chair John Venardos said: “[Karl Rove’s] time spent in the White House as deputy chief of staff and senior advisor to President Bush makes him a living witness to history and his speech will surely be one of the highlights of the conference.”

Other speakers at the conference include Food and Drug Administration (FDA) dietary supplements chief Dan Fabricant, Metagenics chief scientific officer Jeffrey Bland, director at the Office of Dietary Supplements, National Institutes of Health Paul Coates, and Vitamin Angels founder Howard Schiffer.

Pelosi would have been better

Posted by George Bush,

While Karl Rove may have a keen understanding of the intricate workings of Washington, why not have someone who knows how to game the system and skirt the constitution while eluding prosecution? That will do wonders for the industry's reputation and credibility.

Different Viewpoints Make for Interesting Conference

Posted by Council for Responsible Nutrition,

Here’s our perspective: Regardless of where you stand politically, Mr. Rove is widely acknowledged as a riveting speaker, and some would say, brilliant strategist. CRN never shies away from controversy, and we have no doubt this will be an interesting speech for anyone interested in politics and business. We want dietary supplement executives who attend this conference to be thinking and talking…especially if that dialogue stretches outside of their comfort zone or individual viewpoints. You may or may not remember this, but James Carville, another brilliant strategist from another side of the aisle, has previously spoken at the CRN conference…and stay tuned…because we have more speakers to announce.

Unbelievable

Posted by monica,

The CRN's credibility is already highly questionable because of the heavy influence from private industry. Now with Karl Rove on board, you've sealed your coffin. Good luck in legitimizing the supplement industry.
