NutraIngredients-USA presents a round up of movements in the nutra sector, including appointments at Fluxome, Comax Flavors, and Sterling Technology.

Resveratrol supplier Fluxome​ has announced the appointment of Chris Mitchell​ as regional sales manager for the Western US states and Nicole Chilmonik​ as office manager following the relocation of its headquarters to Easton, PA

“The last 12 months have been positively hectic,”​ explained Dr. Herb Woolf, CEO and President of Fluxome, which also produces beta-glucan. “The change [of HQ location] was necessary to bring our administrative support into line, not only for the growing activities in dietary supplements, but also for our launch into the food, cosmetics, and animal nutrition markets.”

Melville, New York-based Comax Flavors​ has appointed Jake Cohen​ as sales associated. Cohen was previously a digital media specialist for Context Web (NYC), and prior advertising sales director for PSP Sports (NYC).

Sterling Technology​, supplier or two bioactive proteins, Immunel and Tegricel, has appointed Angela Walter ​as business development manager. Walter is tasked with guiding the marketing and sales promotion of both proteins into the dietary supplement industry.

Hemp food manufacturer Manitoba Harvest ​has added Sean McBride​ as Western US sales manager. “Sean’s sales and relationship management experience will be extremely beneficial to the sales team and to the company,”​ said Jody Perkins, VP of sales for Manitoba Harvest. “His passion for nutrition and drive to provide exemplary customer service is a true asset.”

Finally, the International Dairy Foods Association​ has appointed Jonathan M. Gardner​ as vice president of regulatory affairs and international standards. Gardner is a longtime food-safety expert at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and prior to this was an environmental health specialist for the Virginia Department of Health.

"Jon brings a wealth of experience to our regulatory and international teams, and we are extremely excited to have him come on board at this critical time,"​ said Clay Hough, IDFA senior group vice president. "I know he will be a valuable resource, both within IDFA and among our member companies, especially those planning to gain HACCP certification."
