NutraIngredients-USA presents a round up of movements in the nutra sector, including appointments at PL Thomas, Wisdom Natural Brands, and AHPA.

New Jersey-based PL Thomas​ has made two appointments in recent days: Sid Hulse​ has joined as New Product Development Manager and will focus on PLT's new product initiatives, from incubation to product launch, as well as dietary supplement and food sales in the US, Japan and Korea. Hulse has previously worked for Valensa International, Zila Nutraceuticals, Archer Daniels Midland, Degussa International and American Cyanamid.

The company has also announced that Seth Flowerman​ has joined the family business as business development associate. Paul Flowerman, president of PLT said: “[Seth] brings his distinctive entrepreneurial experience and analytical skills to the task of continuing to PLT's constantly improving performance.”

Stevia pioneer Wisdom Natural Brands​ has named Gordon Hagedorn​ as vice president of sales. “I am proud to join an organization that has enjoyed a long history of success in the natural products industry,"​ said Hagedorn, a 25-year food industry veteran. “I look forward to increasing the sales and distribution of Wisdom Natural Brands products."

Trade group, the American Herbal Products Association​ (AHPA), has appointed Jennifer Denhard​ as director of communications. "I am enthusiastic about supporting AHPA's efforts to promote continued access to herbs here in the US,"​ she said.

OmniActive Health Technologies​ has announced an expansion of its US sales team after appointing Darrec Jones ​as sales executive, Vikrant Lal ​as technical sales manager, and Sara Zoet​ as customer coordinator.

Canada’s Viterra Inc​. has announced that James (Jim) Bell​ has been appointed as senior vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Bell will provide counsel on transactions, capital market activities, securities law, business investments, best practices, corporate governance, and emerging global trends.

David Ritterbush​ has made the transition from COO to CEO of San-Francisco-based Joint Juice​, Inc​. "We have experienced tremendous success over the past year and our continued innovations coupled with our core strategic initiatives will enable Joint Juice to continue strong sales increases and market share expansion in the years ahead,”​ he said. Ritterbush was previously the VP and general manager for Red Bull North America.
