Californian supplements giant, Herbalife, has plucked dietary supplements regulation expert, Vasilios (Bill) H. Frankos, MS, PhD, from the FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN).

Frankos has worked with the FDA for more than 20 years, worked closely on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Adverse Event Reporting (AER) rules, and is generally regarded as one of the globe’s preeminent experts when it comes to dietary supplements.

“Bill Frankos exemplifies Herbalife’s commitment to providing science-based nutritional supplements of the highest quality available in the marketplace,” said Herbalife chairman and CEO, Michael O Johnson.

Frankos will leave the FDA in march and join Herbalife in April.
