Canadian distributor Alliance Principle Ingredients, formerly
Chem-West Sales, has opened new facilities that expand its
distribution space and comply with GMP standards required under
this year's new Natural Health Products regulations.

Planning for the 15,000 square-foot facilities began in 2001 with construction occurring in late 2002 and throughout 2003.

Mark Greenhalgh of Alliance Principle Ingredients said: "These facilities will allow us to be more responsive to customers with additional on-hand inventory and they are GMP compliant so our customers can feel more confident than ever about doing business with us."

Alliance will also add blending, quality assurance testing and other new services to those previously supplied to manufacturers.

"Everything built was done to improve the level of customer service. We're committed to providing our customers the highest level of service with the response time they want and deserve," added Greenhalgh.

New electronic systems to shorten customer response time have been added and the firm will also be investing in marketing efforts to communicate new research and product offerings, it says.

Alliance Principle Ingredients' clients include Flamma, Indena, Kemin Foods, Natural Remedies and Solbar.
