Fortitech completes Ashland deal
premix blending business, allowing it to better serve the West
Coast marketplace and meet rising market demand for premixes.
Premix business Fortitech has finalised its acquisition of Ashland Distribution's nutritional premix blending business, its third new manufacturing facility in the last year.
The company says the deal will allow it to better serve the West Coast marketplace and meet rising market demand for premixes.
"Consumer demand for fortified products has resulted in unprecedented growth in the human nutrition premix business and record sales for Fortitech," explained Walter Borisenok, president of Fortitech.
The deal, first announced in July, sees Fortitech take on Ashland's premix manufacturing operation located in Fontana, California. Fortitech is currently integrating its technical and quality control programs and training existing staff at the new facility. It also expects to add positions in sales and operations in the coming year.
Schenectady, New York-based Fortitech has also bought manufacturing facilities from BASF in Denmark and Malaysia as part of a worldwide joint venture between the two companies.
