apple extract under the Phytonutriance name.

French ingredients company Diana Vegetal, a partner of North American group RFI Ingredients, has introduced a patent-pending apple extract under the Phytonutriance name.

Phytonutriance apple extract, obtained from fresh, mature apples, is standardised to high levels of phloridzin, a phenolic compound believed to have a number of health benefits including blood sugar balance, cardio-protection and free radical scavenging ability.

Applications for the ingredient include functional foods, dietary supplements and cosmetic products.

Diana Vegetal​ supplies fruit and vegetable extracts and liquid concentrates including GRAS, organic and Kosher products.

RFI Ingredients is a supplier of natural ingredients for the food, functional food and dietary supplement industries. The company specialises in proprietary GRAS products for functional food applications, antioxidants, antimicrobials and natural preservatives and natural colours and extracts.
