The Balance Bar brand has added three new sweet-tasting flavors to its nutrition bar range, which it claims remains a healthy snack food.
The Cookie Dough flavor contains cookie pieces and is smothered in a rich chocolate coating, while Strawberry Cheesecake, part of the Balance Gold triple-layer energy bar range, also promises to be a sweet tasting snack.
There will also be a new flavor in the Balance Gold Crunch line, which launched in January 2003.
Jean Smith, senior brand manager for Balance Bar, said the goal is to deliver "great-tasting products that provide complete nutrition."
All of the bars are said to contain 14g of protein, with moderate carbohydrates for which provide lasting energy without peaks and crash. They are also fortified with 23 vitamins and minerals, and contain 200 calories.
The bars are currently available in natural food, mass merchandise, grocery and convenience outlets. The suggested retail price is $1.39 per bar.
