Natrol, the US-based manufacturer and marketer of branded dietary supplements, has launched Natrol Stress Complex, a supplement designed to help stressed-out insomniacs get a good night's sleep.
Stress Complex contains B vitamins, melatonin and valerian, Natrol said. B vitamins play a crucial role in stress management, energy production and proper sleep, while valerian has been shown to support relaxation at the same time as promoting a restful night's sleep. Clinical data shows that taking melatonin prior to bedtime reduces the time necessary to fall asleep, Natrol said.
"When evaluating the sleep aid category, we noted that despite the myriad of products on the market, over 100 million Americans still experience problems with a restful night's sleep, and the number one cause of this is due to stress," said Elliott Balbert, president and chief executive officer of Natrol.
"We feel that this formula will offer the consumer a dual purpose, a higher value and a premium product than regular stand-alone sleep aids or stress related products." Stress Complex works to help consumers manage their stress and get a restful night's sleep.
Natrol's Stress Complex is available as a 50 count bottle and will be carried in leading retail outlets across the US. The product will be supported by a national media campaign beginning in September 2002.
