"We weren't that close growing up because we have a four-year age difference, so we never overlapped in school," Beatty said. "But as we both became adults, we both had an interest in science. And so we kind of went our own pathways, me more on the business side of things and him deep into the research, but we definitely grew a lot closer as adults and got to follow each other's career trajectories along the way."
The company’s first product, Mimio, provides a patented combination of fasting metabolites as a daily pill to recreate fasting at the molecular level. Mimio has been clinically shown to provide the same anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, metabolic and cardioprotective effects as fasting even during a meal, and has been shown to reduce biological age in humans and extend lifespan in model organisms by as much as 96%.
“I kind of grew up in the late 90s, early 2000s, you know, low-rise jeans," Beatty said. "A lot of like, 'gotta be thin to be cool' type of thing. And I've always been an athlete. So I've always been a little bit more muscular. My mom likes to say that we come from hearty pioneer stock. So it was always something I struggled with personally and continue to battle a little bit as I've gotten older and seen some metabolism shifts for myself. And so that's something that's always been on top of my mind even when it comes to working with a natural products company and wanting to produce something that can have a great effect on people."
Looking ahead, the duo hopes to grow Mimio into a larger company with a full portfolio of products prolong human health span, all powered by human research.
