A Texas-based supplement developer has launched a superfoods offering that adds a mixture of greens, berries and mushroom extracts to a base of Kyowa Hakko’s IMMUSE postbiotic ingredient.

The new product has been released by the sports nutrition brand Glaxon, which was founded in Austin by entrepreneur Joey Savage and his parent company Limited Labs.  Savage has been known for using branded ingredients in his many product releases.

The offering, billed as SuperGreens Enhanced Immune Edition is founded on the Kyowa Hakko ingredient, which is a blend of heat killed Lactobacillus strains that is supported by 29 published studies, including 14 human trials.  According to Kyowa Hakko, the ingredient has a novel method of action  in that it “activates pDC (plasmacytoid dendritic cells)*. The pDC, a rare type of immune cell, functions as the key leader of the immune system and has been shown to activate pivotal cells such as NK, Killer-T, Helper-T, and B cells, for a more comprehensive approach to immune support.”

The product also includes an organic mushroom blend, a berry extract mixture and a greens ingredient dubbed Green Balance.

“We are excited to be in the greens category with IMMUSE™ featured as a key component of the Glaxon SuperGreens Enhanced Immune Edition formulation,” said Karen Todd, MBA, RD, Kyowa Hakko USA’s VP of global brand marketing.
