NutraVideo: Green Point Research on new 32-acre hemp campus
Once complete, the campus is expected to be one of the largest hemp campuses of its kind in the United States.
GPR, an international phytocannabinoid hemp biomass originator and processor, controls its supply chain from seed to processing bulk cannabinoids for business-to-business sale. Satividol, a CBD softgel, is among the products the company produces.
The new campus is located in the opportunity zone and is expected to bring new job opportunities and supply chain benefits to the area.
“Most people think of opportunity zones as downtown urban developments, revitalizing areas. But most opportunity zones are in rural agricultural regions. This is an industry that we need to rebuild...it’s become especially pressing in the COVID era, it’s much needed — and a much needed investment for farmers and other people to bring this to market,” said David Hasenauer, CEO of Green Point Research.
The new North Florida hemp campus center will house the company’s operational headquarters and serve as a central aggregation and fulfillment center for all parts of the hemp supply chain in the Southeast.
Industry supply chain logistics and infrastructure need to grow in order to meet the needs of farmers, many of which failed last year, according to Hasenauer, because there wasn’t enough processing capacity. This new facility is aimed at meeting those needs.
Hasenauer said he hopes to have the new facility fully operational in the next two years.
