NutraVideo: Dr. Stuart Titus on CBN for sleep

As the excitement over CBD levels out, many are turning their attention to CBN. The minor cannabinoid is especially appealing to many tired Americans, as it makes name for itself as a sedative.

Medical Marijuana, Inc. recently announced that it has expanded into the cannabinol (CBN) market by introducing two new CBN isolate products, now offered by its subsidiary Kannaway.

Normally found in aged cannabis plants, CBN is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that naturally occurs when THC molecules break down from oxygenation.

“There has not been a large enough commercial supply available to produce finished products until recently. All of a sudden now, all of these minor cannabinoids are being grown by progressive marijuana or hemp growers in larger amounts so we can potentially start to commercialize and get more familiar with these minors,” explained Medical Marijuana’s CEO Dr. Stuart Titus.

Titus told NutraIngredients-USA that that several animal studies have shown that CBN is likely the most sedating of all the cannabinoids “And certainly anecdotally there has been individuals reporting it works very well in combination with other cannabinoids to produce this wonderful relaxation and sleep-type effect,” added Titus.

“Certainly sleep has tremendous physiological benefits for people.”
