With a background in chemistry as well as various aspects of the dietary supplements industry, Kokkinis is an expert in developing advanced delivery systems aimed to increase absorption while adding to their functionality.
“Delivery systems impact pretty much everything, including sports performance. The reason why is because substances are not absorbed by the body 100%, so getting a substance to absorb gets it into the bloodstream which makes it effective,” he explained.
In addition to challenges in development, Kokkinis also discussed the many hurdles his company faces when conveying absorption to consumers.
“It’s very difficult. Because I think the perception is, whatever you put in your mouth, gets absorbed. So just to convey that concept of ‘you’re not getting 100% absorption’ to start with, people can’t believe it.”
