A new CFO for SPINS, a new manager to market CarnoSyn to general wellness brands–here is a quick cheat sheet of the latest moves and new hires in the industry.

SPINS, a market research company specializing in the natural channel, has appointed Bill Razzino as CFO, leading the company’s financial planning and analysis, accounting, tax, treasury, and M&A functions.

Prior to joining SPINS, Razzino was the CFO of Cheetah Digital, a cross-channel marketing provider. He also has held a variety of senior finance leadership roles at companies such as CareerBuilder, Tribune Company, Leo Burnett, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“As CFO, my role will help develop and align strategies across SPINS’ business units to best support our clients and partners with industry-leading products and services,”​ said Razzino. “Personally, it’s exciting for me to join a company with such a positive mission that is so closely aligned with my own values and to support the organization’s profitable growth.”

Natural Alternatives International – Steve Polzin, CarnoSyn Brands General Wellness Business Development Manager

As the General Wellness Business Development Manager for NAI’s branded beta-alanine CarnoSyn, Polzin will be in charge of driving new business growth into the everyday wellness and healthy aging markets.

Polzin has spent 30 years in sales management and directorial positions in companies like GAIA Herbs, Mamma Chia, Renew Life, Beiersdorf Inc., and more.

ChromaDex – Matthew Roberts, Chief Scientific Officer and SVP of Innovation

ChromaDex Corp., maker or Niagen, appointed Matthew Roberts as chief scientific officer and senior vice president of innovation.

He has been on the ChromaDex Scientific Advisory Board since November 2016.

His most recent position was at Pharmavite, which manufactures the Nature Made line of vitamins, minerals, and supplements, where he served as Chief Technology & Quality Officer. Previously, he has worked at The Nature’s Bounty Company, Abbott Nutrition, and Nestlé.

Roberts holds a PhD in Comparative and Environmental Toxicology from Cornell University and an Executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. He serves on the Nutrition Capital Network innovation screening committee and has served on the Corporate Advisory Board of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, which advances biomedical research and education with programs in cancer, neuroscience, plant biology and quantitative biology.

Marine Ingredients – Scott Woodruff, President and CEO

Scott Woodruff joins Marine Ingredients, a KD Pharma Group Company, after 25 years at Nature’s Way Products. As the new president and CEO, Woodruff will also oversee the business at Marine Ingredients sister company InnovaGel.

“I have personally known Scott for the past seven years. He is widely recognized as a professional industry leader that is respected and well-liked by the teams he has led,”​ said Olav E Sandnes, the company’s previous owner who will now transition as chairman for KD Pharma’s nutraceutical unit.

Boulder Botanical & Bioscience Laboratory – Vic Nastasia, EVP of Sales

Cannabinoid specialist Boulder Botanical & Bioscience Laboratory has appointed Vic Nastasia as EVP of sales. In this role, he will oversee the entire sale soperation, establishing sales targets to meet the company objectives and create strategies for the company’s wide range of inrgedients, products, and services.

He joins the company after three decades in the beverage space in a sales capacity, including vice president of sales and marketing at National Beverage (maker of La Croix), Hansen Beverage, and a senior leadership role at PepsiCo.
