When Vitamin Packs launched last year, founder Jason Brown told NutraIngredients-USA that there are around 70 different supplements that can go into a subscriber’s individualized packet, based on responses the subscriber gives in the enrollment quiz. Most of these supplements feature individual ingredients, like curcumin or omega-3.
Now, the company’s latest addition provides female subscribers with a pregnancy-focused multivitamin in the form of its Pre-Post Natal Multi, announced earlier this month.
Vitamin K2, methylated folate, and organic ginger are among the nutrients in the Pre-Post Natal Multi. The company isn’t exclusively targeting mothers—its targeting women in childbearing age in general.
“Since 50% of pregnancies are unplanned, the best advice might be for all women with pregnancy potential to begin a prenatal multivitamin,” said Michael Roizen, MD, chief wellness officer at the Cleveland Clinic who also serves as a medical advisory board member for Vitamin Packs.
“Prenatal vitamins are designed to help mothers and their offspring be as healthy as possible. A prenatal multivitamin before and during pregnancy gives just what a new mother needs – peace of mind – as they grow and care for their little one,” he added.
Another addition to Vitamin Packs’ lineup of products is a Foundational Multi, which the company claims “delivers therapeutic levels of essential nutrients.”
The Foundational Multi contains vitamin K2, vitamin B6, chromium, and methylated folate, among other ingredients.
